Mike Wolfe: People Over Politics.

Mike Wolfe is a long-time resident of Story County. Mike, his wife Johna, and his family live on a small farm near Maxwell, where they raise sheep, chickens, and bees. His three children attend(ed) Ballard Community Schools.

A descendant of farmers and loggers, Mike was among the first in his family to attend college. He attended Iowa State University and earned a degree in Construction Engineering. He has worked for union mechanical contractors in central Iowa for over 20 years.

Mike values the public education he and his family received in K-12 schools and beyond. He believes those institutions are an engine of opportunity for Iowans and that investing in our public schools is a key factor in maintaining and growing our communities and the state of Iowa.

Why Mike Wolfe is running for the Iowa State Senate

Mike announced his campaign for Iowa State Senate in December 2023. "I want to build an Iowa where our children and families have a future that gives everyone the freedom to live their lives" said Mike during his announcement. "Recently, Republicans in the Iowa Senate have been putting politics over people, and I believe that Iowans deserve better. As State Senator, I will focus my efforts on ensuring that every family has a shot at a better future in the state by fully funding Iowa's public schools, providing more opportunities to our rural communities and guaranteeing a person's right to make their own healthcare decisions."

"Rural communities like Maxwell are slowly dying because of the negligence of the Republicans in the Iowa Senate. My family has made rural Iowa our home. As State Senator, I will advocate for Iowa's small towns by protecting our public schools, main streets, and our neighbor's freedoms."
